In Little Women, Jo was told to “write about what she knew.” I admit, the facet of this world I know the most about it myself. I have considered writing about other people. but worry about offending. I don’t have to worry about offending myself; indeed sometimes I think half of this blog is me taking shots at myself. Which, I think, is all well and good, as it keeps me from getting too serious too much of the time. I have always believed that if one can still laugh at oneself, then one is alright – grounded, as it were. Goodness forbid I took myself seriously all the time.
Although, even when I do, as above, it still can be interesting – just as long as I take a break every once in a while (note: my post “The Anatomy of a Panic Attack.”

Very interesting, perceptive, full of nice phrases and images. I eespecially like the picture of riding on water at the end of the Southwestern blog.

Egocentric? Well… Your Uncle Alex and I have a favorite joke line we like to quote. Steve Martin talked on about himself until his audience was clearly getting tired, at which point he graciously said: “Enough of me talking about myself. What do you think of me?”

But you know what? Maybe a little self-centered but you write about what you know best, and Steve Martin and Alex are pretty good company for active minds and articulate speech. I like to listen to them, and you — you have something to say. GF
